Michael is an 20-year veteran web developer with experience as an in-house problem solver, a team member at a Top-10 Silicon Valley web/marketing agency and as an independent contractor. Before creating Cantus Firmus LLC in 2010 he served as in-house developer and webmaster for for 10 years.

During the Web’s Golden Years of the late 90’s he worked for Grapevine Inc. on projects for the likes of Adobe, 3Com, JD Power and Associates and countless startups of that era. Since 2010 Cantus Firmus LLC has built dozens of WordPress-based sites for companies and non-profits of all sizes. Kaulkin is also a composer and teacher of classical music in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Robin brings nearly 30 years of software development experience to Cantus Firmus, having worked for Omicron Consulting, Syncro Technology Corporation, Thermo Fisher Scientific and others in the Philadelphia area, and for OSIsoft, LLC here in the East Bay. In addition to traditional desktop applications, Robin has worked with scientific and medical devices, embedded firmware, and various other environments. Most recently, he has been focused on cloud-based services, websites, and mobile applications.

Robin also has a background in the theatre, having previously designed lights and sets as well as acted with several small companies on the East Coast. He believes that the best software development is likewise an art, and takes the same craftsmanlike, yet practical, approach to it today.

Christine has created graphics for Bay Area companies both small and large, ranging from nonprofits to high-tech firms. Selected clients include Electronics For Imaging, The Olympic Club Foundation, Conservation Corps North Bay, ATODUS Media, and Chevron Global Lubricants. She also has a strong presence in the local arts scene, creating publicity and branding materials for 3rd i Films, the Douglas Morrisson Theatre, Bandaloop, and Theatre Rhinoceros.

Christine has a background in writing and editing as well: she earned a B.A. in English from UC Berkeley, and worked for nearly four years as an editor at Miller Freeman, Inc. Two of her full-length plays have been produced locally by Bella Union Theatre Company, and she has written for the San Francisco Silent Film Festival blog.
